On the fifth day, a strenuous climb will take you to Kibo Hut, which is 4,700 meters above sea level. Climbers try the summit on the sixth day, beginning at midnight and arriving at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, at sunrise. The final day of the journey is spent descending to Mweka Gate. Horombo Hut is considered as the best camp for acclimatization on Kilimanjaro because it is located at an ideal altitude of 3,720 meters. This is high enough to provide a good challenge for climbers, but not so high that it increases the risk of altitude sickness.
