  • Day 1: Moshi – Londorossi Gate– Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp

    he drive to Londorosi Gate takes approximately two hours from Moshi and considerably longer from Arusha. Registration with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities occurs at the gate and then you will be driven further up the mountain to the trailhead starting point. Upon arrival at Mti Mkubwa, you may get lucky to see large wildlife like buffalo and elephants that sometimes emerge from the rainforest onto the path as you trek toward your first camp. Diner will be served when you reach Mti Mkubwa Camp.

  • Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp– Shira 1 Camp

    After breakfast we start our hike by making our way across the shira plateau going to shira 2 camps. Temperature will start changing drastically at this point and sometimes dropping to freezing point at night. Along the path unique wildflowers and senecio trees can be spotted.

    Today’s hike will take three hours to four hours through the high alpine desert. We hike to lava tower and the shark’s tooth rock formation; we will then diverge to on off beaten path to moir hut.

    On this day we will have a steady hike over the saddle, outstretch of barren land attaching the two peaks of kibo and mawenzi. The terrain can be challenging because it’s a high altitude desert. Have an early rest and prepare all your gears and get ready for the big day.

    Around midnight you will be woken up to start our trek to the summit. This part is more challenging compared to the other parts of trekking. After packing snacks we will start trekking to the summit between the rebman and ratzel glaciers through heavy scree up to Stella point on the crater rim. After reaching stella point we will take a short break and stare at the most beautiful sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting), from there we might encounter snow all the way up to the summit. After reaching the highest peak in Africa, take as many pictures as you can and indulge in your victory, your time here will be brief to avoid altitude sickness. Start your descent to mweka hut campsite, making a stop at barafu camp for lunch, the trail is a bit rocky and can be harmful to the knees so trekking poles can be helpful here, after reaching the camp we will have our last dinner on the mountain and get some rest.

    his day you will be woken early in the morning, after breakfast we will start our trek to the summit. We continue our way to the summit between the Rebman and Ratzel glaciers, stay warm and focused on the amazing sense of accomplishment. After some time on the summit, we then descend to Barafu for a rest and early lunch and then walk down along a gentle path to Millennium camp for lunch and last dinner on the mountain.

    Day 10: Millennium Camp – Mweka gate-Moshi

    This is our final day on Kilimanjaro, we will descent through the Southern rai forest until Mweka gate where our vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Moshi town.
