Day 1: Moshi – Londorossi Gate– Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp
he drive to Londorosi Gate takes approximately two hours from Moshi and considerably longer from Arusha. Registration with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities occurs at the gate and then you will be driven further up the mountain to the trailhead starting point. Upon arrival at Mti Mkubwa, you may get lucky to see large wildlife like buffalo and elephants that sometimes emerge from the rainforest onto the path as you trek toward your first camp. Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp– Shira Camp
On this day, you will leave the rainforest and approach moorland terrain. You will trek along the rolling hills and find several streams along the way. The trek is relatively short and gradual ending at Shira Camp.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1– Moir hut
On day three the trek crosses the Shira Plateau from Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2 for lunch. after lunch we will continue with a trek heading East which passes through the Garden of the Senecios and then enters the high alpine desert zone, then you will join the Northern circuit heading down to Moir Camp.

Day 4: Moir Hut – Buffalo Camp
Today we encounter a moderately steep climb out of Moir Valley to Buffalo camp, the path continuing as we follow a series of inclines and declines and at the end of this day, we are finishing at a lower altitude than we started. We will reach Buffalo camp for rest, dinner ad overnight. From the campsite, you can see fantastic views of the plains north of Kilimanjaro Mountain.

Day 5: Buffalo Camp – Third cave
Today we trek out of Moir Valley with a moderately steep climb, then hike to the summit of lent hills before returning to the main trail. The path crosses a rock field before reaching Buffalo camp. This day offers a great view across the plains that lie North of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6: Third cave – School Hut
On this day we will climb up and over the saddle which sits between Kibo and Mawenzi, we continue on top to the camp School Hut, once arrived where we will rest and enjoy an early dinner to prepare for the summit day.

Day 7: School Hut – Uhuru Peak – Millennium camp
Around midnight we will start our trek to the summit. This part is more challenging compared to the other parts of trekking. After parking our staff we will start trekking to the summit between the Rebman and ratzel glaciers through heavy scree up to Stella point on the crater rim, as you approach the crater rim you will start to see the sun rising over the African plains which bring warm, heat and light up to the summit. After some time on the summit, we then descend to Barafu for a rest and early lunch and then walk down along a gentle path to Millennium camp for lunch and last dinner on the mountain.
Day 8: Millennium camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
On our last day after breakfast, we continue the descent to Mweka Gate and collect the summit certificate for successfully reaching the summit At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. From the gate, we continue another hour to Mweka village where a vehicle will meet us and drive us back to the hotel in Moshi / Arusha.

Northern Circuit is famously known as the most beautiful route amongst all other routes, the trail approaches the mountain from the west and makes its ways from the shira ridge to shira camp.
